SATTE 2019 – Trends show an Increased Participation

The 26th edition of SATTE, South Asian Travel & Tourism Exchange at the new venue – India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, had bagged an excellent response with the market leaders both in India and overseas.

For the first time there were over 1,000 exhibitors and representation from over 50 Countries and 90 cities across India. In terms of National Tourism Offices (NTO's) Qatar, Tunisia, Cyprus, Iceland, Myanmar amongst participated in SATTE for the first time ushering in new business opportunities in India. While Thailand, Malaysia, Dubai and Sri Lanka are partner countries, Indonesia is the feature destination and Azerbaijan was the focus country for SATTE 2019.

Indians are among the top spenders while travelling abroad only second to China and this is being noticed by many overseas players. We feel that the big players are also being egged on by the fact that India is growing at a rapid pace and will account for over 50 Million outbound tourists by the year 2020.

Lot of new flight routes opening up from smaller and B & C designated towns are only feeding the international markets with more numbers. Spread over 3 days, SATTE 2019 witnessed several exciting partnerships and announcements that promise to augur in new trends in the industry. The expo also witnessed footfalls from a wide range of visitors that comprised tour operators, travel agents, wedding planners, corporate travel decision makers, potential Investors in the field of hospitality, leisure and travel industries as well as location planners from leading Television and Film production houses.

Long cut short story, India is potentially looked at a very potential market and with the travel industry being looked at by the Government as a favored industry is also well-supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and 'Make in India' initiative of the Govt. of India.
