Sri Lanka returning to Normalcy

Things are returning to business as usual across the island with none of any incident reported during last week of May and first week of June so far. The tag – Love Sri Lanka, well promoted by key industry players from Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance worked very positively. People traveling to Sri Lanka are coming back with a message of support and encouragement for other travellers and tour operators.

Sri Lanka quietly celebrated the calm of Vesak Poya as an important day in Buddhist Calendar. The much of it was to pay tribute to those who lost their lives or loved ones during the temporary unrest elevating the situation. The streets of Colombo was filled with several thoughtful acts such as 'dansal' – act of giving meal or refreshment, some of which were organized by Muslim community of Colombo – a true heart-warming sight.

By end of May 2019, traffic in important cities of Sri Lanka is back to normal. China lifted its travel ban over Sri Lanka, which will prompt rest of the countries to follow the same encouragement to the country. Germany and Switzerland both relaxed the travel restrictions to Sri Lanka – which is a huge respite to improvise the travel prospective in the country.
